Isaiah Wade claims ASEAN League weekly honour- January 11, 2023
The 24-year old power forward had a double-double of 33 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Tigers (#8, 0-4) with 24-point margin 109-85. Macau maintains the 7th position in ASEAN League . The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 3 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Wade had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Macau's top player in his first season with the team. University of Central Oklahoma graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wade is in league's top in points (4th best: 24.5ppg) and rebounds (5th best: 12.5rpg). The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Antonio Hester (198-F-1990) of Zamboanga. Hester impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Zamboanga cruised to a 87-79 relatively comfortable win over Singapore S. (2-2). This victory allowed Zamboanga to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Hester is one of the most experienced players at Zamboanga and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 11.3rpg and 4.0apg. University of Mobile alumni Hester played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The third best performed player last round was another Macau's star - American De'Quan Abrom (188-SG-1996). Abrom got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and nine assists. He was another key player of Macau, helping his team with a 109-85 easy win against Tigers (#8, 0-4). Macau can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Abrom has individually a great season in ASEAN League. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.0apg (4th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Jenning Leung (183-G-1995) of Macau - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists 7. C.J. Gettys (213-C-1994) of Singapore S. - 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists 8. Ryan Smith (213-C-1995) of Zamboanga - 15 points and 13 rebounds 9. Tonny Trocha-Morelos (208-F/C) of HK Eastern - 10 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists 10.
